One of the greatest winemaking families in all of Napa will be visiting us this Saturday for a truly special tasting of their award-winning wines. For the last 40 years, Tony and Jo Ann Truchard have been pioneers in Northern California and have transformed the way grapes are grown and wines are made.
Cabernet Sauvignon: A distinct Cabernet nose of black cherries, ripe plum and cassis; with hint of cedar and vanilla. The mouth is layered with flavors of raspberry, red currants and plum jam. Ripe tannins focus on the palate and provide a lengthy finish of spice and red fruit.
Chardonnay: An outstanding vintage! A floral nose of green apple, pineapple and honeysuckle; with hints of nutmeg, fig and toasted oak. The mouth is clean and bright; filled with flavors of pear, lemon and lime. Firm acidity provides a crisp finish of citrus, mineral and spice.
Merlot: Floral aromas of wild blueberry, cranberry and red currant; with notes of cedar, spice and subtle mint. The mouth is smooth and layered with bright flavors of pomegranate, plum jam, pie cherries and sweet vanilla. Ripe tannins fill the palate and provide an elegant finish.
Pinot Noir: Nearly perfect! Rich aromas of ripe plum, rhubarb and wild strawberry; with notes of citrus blossom, pomegranate and earth. The mouth is silky; with bright flavors of pie cherries, cranberry and sweet vanilla. Firm acidity and delicate tannins focus the palate and provide a lingering finish of spice and red fruit.
Roussanne: Tropical aromas of honeysuckle, pineapple and jasmine, with highlights of passion fruit and vanilla. The mouth is bright and clean with flavors of white nectarine, pear and fresh apricot. Firm acidity provides a lengthy finish of citrus, mineral and spice.
Syrah: A complex nose of cassis, ripe cherry and black plum; with a hint of vanilla, leather and white pepper. The mouth is layered with jammy flavors of blackberry, boysenberry and currants; followed by mineral and cracked black pepper. Mouth-filling tannins provide an opulent finish of fruit and spice.
Zinfandel: Exotic aromas of boysenberry, rhubarb and cassis with a touch of cedar, tobacco and mint. The mouth is filled with jammy flavors of plum, ripe berries and sweet vanilla. Round tannins and firm acidity provide a lengthy finish of spice and red fruits.
