Blauschiefer translates to mean Blue Slate, named after the terroir this dry Riesling is grown on. In Germany, this is sought after dirt. Blue slate never warms up as much as other types of soil, causing the grapes to maintain a crisp acidity and generous minerality. An excellent food wine - try with a salad with candied nuts or your favorite soft cheese!
